While Lifeflight is renowned for its emergency helicopter service, it became evident during the design phase that the true essence of the business lies in its commitment to caring for others. A prominent feature of the design is the incorporation of retired helicopter wings, serving as a poignant symbol that resonates across all aspects of the organisation.
Strategically grouping key business units around a central void and kitchen area was a deliberate decision, fostering a sense of cohesion and collaboration within the workplace. Placing the kitchen and breakout zone in the atrium space mirrors the sentiment that the “kitchen is the heart of the home,” enabling seamless interaction and synergy among different units.
This design approach not only enhances functionality but also reinforces the central ethos of compassion and teamwork that defines Lifeflight’s mission.
